Verif Platform November 2025 Update: New Employment Validation and Security Features

Introducing Employment Validation: Reliable Work History Verification for Safer Hiring

In this update, the Verif platform is improved. We are proud to introduce Employment Validation, a factual employment history verification service designed to bring unparalleled trust and clarity to your critical hiring decisions. This new feature helps organizations quickly confirm a candidate’s professional background.

Key Data Verified by Employment Validation:

  • Confirmed Employer: The official company name.
  • Job Title Accuracy: The candidate’s official position.
  • Employment Dates: Verified start and end dates of employment.

Understand the Difference: Employment Validation vs. Reference Calls

Employment Validation (Factual Data):

Verification of the candidate’s most recent declared employment that can be contacted. This confirms the company, job title, and employment dates directly with HR or an authorized employer representative to ensure factual accuracy.

Employment Reference Call (Qualitative Feedback):

A call conducted to verify the candidate’s employment performance and qualitative aspects, based on contacts provided for reference purposes. This goes beyond factual data, focusing on feedback, behavior, and work style.

All employment validations are performed directly with HR representatives or other authorized employer contacts, ensuring maximum data accuracy and authenticity for your background check process.

How the Employment Validation Service Works:

  • Automatically contacts the candidate’s most recent employer.
  • Verifies at least one employer provided by the candidate.

Results for the new Employment Validation service appear in the newly updated Validations section of your report, right alongside License and Diploma checks. Additional documentation will be available soon.

Enhanced Data Security with Granular API Key Permissions

We’ve introduced a new layer of control for all customer integrations: API Key Permissions. You can now assign specific, granular permissions to each API key, limiting exactly what that key is allowed to access or perform within the Verif platform.

The Value of Granular API Control:

  • Improves overall data security and compliance.
  • Creates safer, role-based integration workflows.
  • Allows customers to comply with internal IT and security policies more easily through explicit access control.

This is especially valuable for organizations managing multiple integrations, development environments, or third-party access to their Verif data.

Continuing Our Commitment to Trust and Efficiency

These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to making the hiring process safer, simpler, and more efficient while giving organizations the essential tools they need to build trust that lasts beyond the hiring moment. The introduction of Employment Validation and enhanced API security marks a significant step forward.

More features, documentation, and improvements are on the way. Stay tuned for future Verif platform announcements!
